Content blocks in legacy campaigns
Before you start
This article covers how to edit content blocks in legacy campaigns. For an easier and more versatile campaign builder, check out our article on the Studio campaign designer.
Content blocks are the parts that make up your campaign’s pages on GoFundMe Pro including the header, footer, and everything in-between.
When using the legacy campaign editor’s design tab, you can select content blocks directly to edit them.
Hide content blocks
To hide certain content blocks:
- In the campaign editor, open the Design tab
- Under Content Blocks, find the content block you want to hide
- Next to the block, toggle off
Note: Not all content blocks can be hidden. For example, you cannot hide the activity feed on Team or Fundraiser pages in a Peer-to-Peer or Registration with Fundraising campaign, but you can turn off commenting.
Header
Your header is the strip across the top of your campaign pages that holds general information including your logo. Any changes you make to your header will apply to all the pages in your campaign.
Key edits you can make:
- Add a link to your logo
- Change header background color
- Make header background transparent
Edit the header
In the content blocks menu, select Header. From here you can change your header's logo and background.
Logo
You can add a logo when you create a campaign. But, you can also use the editor to set up or replace your logo. You can upload a new logo, change where your logo links to, and edit the color of the share arrow next to your avatar.
If you added a logo previously, it will display instead of the upload button. To change your logo, select the upload symbol. To remove your logo, select the X.
Background
Use the background color circle to change the background color of your header. The color opacity slider will change the opacity of the background color—0% will make it transparent.
You can also select Upload Image to add a background image to your header. If you do, you'll have additional tools to edit the position, opacity, and blur of the image. We recommend using simple patterns to ensure your header isn't distracting.
Tip: A transparent background is a good way to add emphasis to your logo and Hero Image. Just make sure that the textual elements (such as your share link) are clearly visible and that your logo has a transparent background.
Hero
The hero image is the most prominent block on any campaign with a landing page. All campaigns in GoFundMe Pro have one except standalone donation pages. The Hero block contains your hero image (main background image), headline, and call to action buttons.
Key edits you can make:
- Edit the opacity and position of the Hero Image
- Customize your main donation or fundraise buttons
- Change or hide crowdfunding or peer-to-peer progress bars
- Add or change headlines and headline images
About
The about block is where you describe your cause and why it is important. From the campaign editor, you can edit more than what the message says.
Key edits you can make:
- Change or hide the headline
- Customize the text and font
- Add a background image
Impact
The impact block contains tiles which are meant to communicate the specific effect of donations. You can use the messages to further encourage supporters to join your cause. Impact blocks are only available in crowdfunding and peer-to-peer campaigns.

- Show or hide the entire content block
- Customize the progress circle (progress bar)
- Edit the text and background appearance
- Change button color
Location
The location block displays the location of a ticketed event or registration with fundraising event. It also allows you to add text, so you can provide directions or venue information. You can only edit this content block from the design tab.

- Change the background color and opacity
- Change the location and map appearance (zoom and opacity)

- Show or hide the entire content block
- Customize the text and font (choose from 7)
- Choose to allow or disable commenting
Footer
Your footer is the strip across the bottom of your campaign pages that holds information, including your organization’s contact information. Any changes you make to your footer on any page will apply to all the pages in your campaign.
Key edits you can make:
- Show or hide footer
- Change the footer logo
- Change the text color
- Add a background color or image
Body
A body block appears on every page except the landing page. You can use the body to edit the main content of the campaign page you choose.
The design tools will differ from page to page, but anything that is editable will appear once you open the block. The best strategy is simply to select the design element you want to edit in your preview—this will open the body content block and the matching design tools.
Some popular customizations include showing or hiding the progress bars on team and individual fundraising pages as well as changing the background of donation pages.
Custom blocks
Custom text block
You can add custom text blocks to any page within a campaign, use them to add extra text, images, and even videos.
Custom code block
Custom code blocks require some coding knowledge, but they allow you to use custom HTML and CSS for even greater control over how your content appears on the page.
For example, the CSS in custom code blocks supports Google Fonts which can give you more font options. You can simply declare the font name in your font-family CSS property to see it take effect in your custom block.
