Sync offline donations and registrations to Salesforce

Note : GoFundMe Pro was previously known as Classy, so that name may still appear in custom objects, fields, and labels in Salesforce.

The Salesforce integration allows you to sync offline donation and registration data between GoFundMe Pro and Salesforce. The sync is currently only bidirectional for donations with our base (NPSP) integration, which means:

  • You can sync donation and registration data from GoFundMe Pro to Salesforce
  • You can sync donation data from Salesforce to GoFundMe Pro

Note: You need to be on version 6.84 or later of the integration to sync data from Salesforce to GoFundMe Pro.

Sync offline donations to Salesforce

To sync offline donations from GoFundMe Pro to Salesforce, mark the Integrations & Webhooks checkbox when creating the offline donation. If an offline donation already exists in GoFundMe Pro but not in Salesforce, edit it in GoFundMe Pro and check the Integrations & Webhooks box. Then, use the Data Sync Tool to sync the missing donation.

Important

When filling out the attendee information for offline registrations, it is very important that the Apply the purchaser's information to all attendees checkbox is NOT checked as this can cause issues later in Salesforce when needing to update the attendee information.

For more information on how attendees sync to Salesforce, please see our article on the Salesforce integration and events.

Sync offline donations from Salesforce to GoFundMe Pro

To sync an offline donation from Salesforce NPSP to GoFundMe Pro, create an opportunity and mark the Sync as Offline Donation checkbox.

Be sure to fill out the fields listed in the following table—they are required for the two-way sync. *Note: If syncing a donation from a company, the Company Name field can be filled out instead of the Billing First Name and Billing Last Name fields.

Once you fill out the fields and save the opportunity, it will be overwritten by a GoFundMe Pro opportunity. The opportunity name you entered will change to the GoFundMe Pro default or the format specified in your NPSP settings.

Frequently asked questions

I am not using version 6.84 or later of the integration. How do I update?

You can update directly from your Control Panel. For a full walkthrough, view our article on updating the Salesforce integration.

What happens to the Opportunity created in Salesforce if no email is provided for the donor on the offline donation form in GoFundMe Pro?

An email address must be provided for the integration to match to or create a Contact in Salesforce. If no email is provided when syncing the offline donation form to Salesforce, the integration will create the Opportunity in Salesforce, but it will be associated to a general "Classy Bucket" Account. The name of this Account can be customized later.

How can I see my changes made to the offline donation in GoFundMe Pro reflected on the Opportunity in Salesforce?

When making a change to an offline donation in GoFundMe Pro, the Salesforce Sync checkbox at the bottom of the offline donation page must be checked in order for the changes to sync to the Opportunity in Salesforce.
