Braintree
Braintree is a legacy payment processor primarily used by Canadian and international customers. U.S.-based GoFundMe Pro customers typically onboard with GoFundMe Pay, which offers more payment options for donors, in-product reconciliation reporting, and built-in fraud protection.
Important: Canadian organizations must meet a $150,000 annual volume threshold to qualify for an international Braintree account.

First, apply for a Braintree account and, once approved, complete setup in GoFundMe Pro.

Edit fraud filters in Braintree
While Braintree offers fraud protection tools, some settings may interfere with GoFundMe Pro's donation processing. We recommend turning off the following filters:
CVV
GoFundMe Pro does not send CVV for recurring payments after the first transaction. Requiring CVV may cause recurring donations to fail.
AVS (Address Verification Service)
If you turn on GoFundMe Pro's no billing address required feature for paid transactions in GoFundMe Pro Events, turn off AVS to prevent disruptions.
Turn off CVV and AVS in Braintree
- Log in to Braintree
- Go to Settings (cog icon) and select Processing then Fraud Tools
- Open AVS Settings, uncheck all boxes, and save
- Repeat for CVV Settings
