Customize your contact opt-in settings
The opt-in checkbox lets your supporters choose whether to receive future marketing emails or text messages from your organization. The supporter's preference is recorded in their Supporter record, which you can use to inform your audience.
Note: The option selected by a supporter does not impact whether they receive emails from GoFundMe Pro.
Turn the opt-in option on or off
You can turn on the opt-in checkbox in each campaign's settings.
Studio campaigns
- Select Settings
- Select Donations > Donation options
- Under Email and text marketing consent, choose whether supporters are allowed to opt-in to your emails and text (SMS) messages. You can also choose whether the opt-in checkbox is marked by default for emails.
Note: The opt-in language for text messages will only appear if the cell phone custom question is visible to your donors.
Legacy campaigns
- Select Details and then Donation Page in the menu
- Under Contact opt-in checkbox, select whether supporters are allowed to opt-in.
Edit the contact opt-in description
You can set the description for all of your donation pages within your GoFundMe Pro account settings. You cannot create campaign-specific descriptions, which ensures the opt-in description is consistent across your campaigns.
To edit the description:
- Select Settings in your account menu
- Select Account to access your organization's information
- Scroll to the Marketing consent section and select Edit
- Enter the message you want for emails and texts (SMS)
- Note: Text opt-in language only applies to Studio donation pages and embedded forms
- Select Save
Gather your email audience
You can find out which of your supporters want to be contacted in the future by adding a column to the Supporters report in your GoFundMe Pro account. To do so:
- Select Supporters in your account menu
- Select Columns
- Search for and select Email Opt In
- Arrange the column to your desired location and select Apply
If you want to save or share this report, select Add to my reports.
