Giving Cart in the Salesforce Agentforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) integration

Before you start

Only new Giving Cart transactions will sync to your Nonprofit Cloud instance. Submit a request to ask our Care team to sync historical data.

With Giving Cart turned on in your campaign, supporters can give to different designations in a single order, mixing one-time and recurring gifts. Our Salesforce Agentforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) integration automatically syncs every item in an order, so you can keep each gift organized and easy to track.

How orders sync

When the order syncs to Salesforce, one or more Gift Transactions are created, depending on what was in the cart:

One-time gifts

All one-time gifts in an order sync as a single Gift Transaction record. Each designation in the cart syncs to its own Gift Transaction Designation, with the exact amount the supporter gave to that designation. If the supporter added two cart items for the same designation, the amounts are combined into a single Gift Transaction Designation.

Salesforce automatically calculates the percentage splits for each designation. If the supporter covered fees, the covered amount is distributed proportionally across the gifts in the order, so each Gift Transaction's amount matches what was actually charged for it.

Recurring gifts

Each recurring gift in an order creates its own recurring plan in GoFundMe Pro, and each plan syncs as its own Gift Commitment record with its own first Gift Transaction. After checkout, future installments are processed on their schedule and sync as new Gift Transactions under the same Gift Commitment.

Order items

Every line item in the order also syncs as a GFM Pro Order Item linked to the Gift Transaction record, with the item's type, quantity, and amount. Use this to easily view the individual items that make up a combined gift.

View all gifts from one order

Note: GoFundMe Pro was previously known as Classy, so that name may still appear in some custom objects, fields, and labels in Salesforce.

Use fields on the Gift Transaction record to conveniently group one-time and recurring gifts from the same order:

  • GFM Pro Confirmation ID (stay_classy__confirmation_id__c): The confirmation ID on the supporter's receipt and in GoFundMe Pro reporting. Use this when reconciling against GoFundMe Pro reports or talking with supporters.
  • GFM Pro Commerce Order ID (stay_classy__commerce_order_id__c): The order's internal order ID. Use this when working with the Care team on a specific order.

Both fields work in list views, reports, and Flows, so you can group an order together anywhere in Salesforce. For example, create a report grouped by GFM Pro Confirmation ID to show each order as the supporter entered it during checkout.

Note: Users need field access to GFM Pro Commerce Order ID, GFM Pro Confirmation ID, and GoFundMe Transaction Type to view the component. The GFM Pro for Salesforce Fundraising All Objects and Fields permission set includes access to these fields.

The GFM Pro Related Gifts component can be added to your Gift Transaction record page to list all other gifts in an order, along with their amounts, types, and statuses. The component will show up only when there are related Gift Transaction records for the same order, and it stays hidden when there aren't any.

To add it to your record layout:

  1. Open any Gift Transaction record, select the gear icon, then select Edit Page
  2. In the Components list under Custom, drag GFM Pro Related Gifts onto the page
    • We recommend placing it under the main column below the record details
  3. Select Save
    • If this is a new page, select Activation to assign it as the org default for Gift Transactions

Refunds

Refunds for transactions in a Giving Cart order work the same as individual transactions. Processing a refund changes the Gift Transaction status to Fully Refunded and creates a Gift Refund record.

Refunding one gift in an order doesn't affect the other Gift Transactions in that order. For example, you can cancel a recurring gift in an order, and the one-time gifts in that order will not be refunded.

FAQs

Why isn't the GFM Pro Related Gifts component not showing up on the Gift Transaction?

The gift component will only appear if the order contains two or more Gift Transactions. If it's still not showing up, confirm the component was added to the Gift Transaction record page and the page is activated. Also, make sure the viewing user has the GFM Pro for Salesforce Fundraising All Objects and Fields permission set.

Do future installments of a recurring gift keep the order fields?

No, the Confirmation ID and Order ID identify the original order, so they appear on the gifts created at checkout. Later installments sync like any other recurring gift under the same Gift Commitment.

Will my older Giving Cart transactions get the checkout fields?

Not automatically. Submit a request for the Care team to assist with syncing your historical data.

Do I still need to turn Giving Cart off in my campaign settings for transactions to sync?

No, Giving Cart transactions now sync automatically.
