Campaign status definitions

Campaign statuses

On the Campaigns tab in GoFundMe Pro, you can filter your campaigns by status. Click on the Status dropdown to open the status list. You can click the check boxes to sort campaigns by status. For explanations of the statuses, look below.

Published

If a campaign has the Published status, that means it’s accessible to the public. Supporters will be able to find your campaign and submit donations. Your active campaigns should have the published status.

Note: If a campaign is published, it will still process donations even if it’s no longer considered an active campaign by the organization. To ensure inactive campaigns don’t process donations, you’ll want to make sure they have the unpublished status.

Unpublished

When you unpublish a campaign, it will display the Unpublished status. That means the campaign is no longer accessible to the public. We recommend unpublishing any campaign that is past its end date.

Note: Recurring donations continue to process even if you unpublish the campaign they were initiated on. For help canceling or moving a recurring donation, view our guide on editing recurring giving plans.

Draft

A campaign will have the Draft status if you started to build it but never published it. Once you publish a draft campaign, it will have the Published status and never display the Draft status again. If you unpublish the campaign, it will simply display Unpublished.

Past

A Past status refers to any campaign that has passed its end date. If your campaign has no end date, it will never have the Past status.

Only Past campaigns can have more than 1 status. For example, a past campaign can also be unpublished or published. We recommend keeping past campaigns as unpublished to prevent supporters from accessing them.
