Edit a recurring donation
If you’re a donor or supporter, view our supporters' guide on editing recurring donations.
Access recurring donations
- In your GoFundMe Pro account, select Transactions
- Select Recurring Giving Plans
- Select the Recurring Plan ID number for the plan you want to edit
Edit, cancel, or pause recurring donations
On the Recurring Plan page, select Edit to change the recurring donation frequency, amount, processing day, and end date. You can also select Cancel Recurring Giving Plan to cancel the plan.
Note: Recurring plans set up on the 29th, 30th, or 31st will process on the 28th for the following months. This is because not every month has 29-31 days.
Monthly recurring plans can also be paused. To pause a monthly plan, select Pause Plan on the recurring plan page. Then, choose a date for the plan to resume.
When a change is made to a plan, the donor is sent an email notification.
Payment information
Select Update to edit the credit card and billing information for the recurring donation.
You can switch the payment method to a credit card from PayPal or ACH, but you cannot switch it back. To switch back, supporters will need to update their plan on their own. If a supporter creates a recurring donation using a Digital Wallet, they cannot switch to another Digital Wallet. However, they can switch to the credit card they use for digital wallet transactions.
Note: You'll need to have GoFundMe Pro Pay or Braintree as your payment processor to use PayPal and you'll need to have GoFundMe Pro Pay as your payment processor to use ACH (bank transfer) and digital wallets.
Supporter
Next to Supporter, select Edit to specify whether the recurring donation is anonymous. If you’d like to edit the supporter’s name and contact information, select their name or avatar instead.
Campaign
Next to Campaign, select Edit to specify which campaign the donation belongs to. If the campaign allows fundraising, you can also specify which fundraising team or page the donation belongs to. You can also choose to credit the past donations to the new campaign and fundraising pages.
Note: Donations from campaigns using Donor Covered Fees (DCF) can't be transferred to older campaigns that use Classy Mode. If the donation you want to transfer came from a DCF campaign, Classy Mode campaigns will not appear in the dropdown and you must transfer it to another DCF campaign.
Program Designation
Next to Program Designation, select Transfer to specify which program designation the donation belongs to. Only enabled program designations will appear as options.
