Create a fundraising page
The organization you want to fundraise for will have a webpage with a button to sign up as a fundraiser. Depending on what the button looks like, you will create your fundraising page in GoFundMe or in GoFundMe Pro:
Create a page in GoFundMe
Select Start your fundraiser on the organization's webpage to create your page in GoFundMe.
You might have the option to add a personal touch to your fundraising page story. Then, enter your name and email to create an account in GoFundMe or sign in to your existing account. Once you're logged in, you'll be able to change the story, goal, and images that were set by default by the organization.
Your page is now ready to launch and accept donations!
Create a page in GoFundMe Pro
Select Become a fundraiser on the organization's webpage, then complete the following:
- Choose how you want to fundraise (individually or as a team)
Note: Your fundraising options are controlled by the organization. For instance, some organizations only allow individual fundraisers while others only allow teams.
- Create an account with the sign-up form
Note: If you have donated to or fundraised for an organization that uses GoFundMe Pro in the past, you can log in to your supporter account instead. GoFundMe Pro makes the fundraising software many nonprofits use to manage fundraisers and donations.
Enter the details for your fundraising page
Once you create an account or log in, you'll set up the details of your page.
- Follow the prompts to enter your fundraising details including:
- Your fundraising goal
- Your fundraising page headline
- Last, upload a profile picture for your fundraising page
- We encourage adding one to personalize your page
- You can always change it later
On peer-to-peer campaigns, you'll find an option to fundraise in honor of someone. If you check this box, your fundraising page will include the person you are fundraising in honor of instead of your name.
Edit your fundraising page
Once you create your page, you can customize it.
In GoFundMe
Your fundraising page is automatically created with default content set by the organization. You must claim your page to customize the content, in addition to tracking donations and thanking your supporters. To edit a page:
- Select Claim fundraiser (if already claimed, select Manage)
- Select Edit in your GoFundMe dashboard
In GoFundMe Pro
To edit your page, select Manage in the top-right of the page to open your editor. From there you can change the Story content, post updates, and change your page details such as your profile picture.
