Learn more about GoFundMe Pro

There are many reasons to create a Facebook fundraising page from your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page. Some quick benefits include:

  • Allowing people to donate directly on Facebook
  • Expanding your reach by letting people share
  • Using your GoFundMe Pro page for more personal appeals
  • Keeping progress in sync on both pages

Throughout this guide, you’ll uncover some other benefits too. But first, let’s create a Facebook fundraiser.

Create a Facebook fundraiser

First, you’ll need to have a GoFundMe Pro fundraising page. For help creating one, view our guide. If you already have a GoFundMe Pro fundraising page, follow the steps below:

  1. Access your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page
  2. Log in at the top of the page if you haven’t already
  3. In the header, select Manage

Important: Right now, it is not possible to create a Facebook fundraising page from a tribute page. If you selected I'm fundraising to honor someone else when you created your fundraising page, a Facebook tab won't appear.

Tip: If you use Safari as your web browser, you may see an endless processing screen. To fix this, go to your address bar and look for a blocked pop-up notification. Select it and allow the pop-up to display to create your Fundraising page.

  1. When the Facebook login prompt appears, log in if you haven't already
  2. Make sure you allow Manage your Fundraisers (slide the toggle on)

Note: If you don't allow Manage your Fundraisers, you will see an error message. Facebook will remember your choice, and you won’t be prompted to allow Manage your Fundraisers until you remove your preference from your Facebook settings. To do this, view our troubleshooting steps at the end of this article.

Once you complete these steps, your Facebook fundraising page will be created automatically and appear on your Facebook activity feed. Select View on the tile that appears to visit your Facebook fundraising page.

From there, you can share both your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page and Facebook fundraising page with friends and family to gather donations.

Edit the page

When you create a Facebook fundraising page, the following information will transfer over from your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page:

  • The campaign’s background image
  • Your Fundraiser Name
  • Your Page Headline
  • Your Fundraising goal
  • Your Fundraising end date

While the background image can only be changed in Facebook, you can edit the other details at any time from your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page. To do so, select the Details tab in the editor for your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page. The changes you make will automatically apply to your Facebook fundraising page.

Note that you can also edit your Facebook fundraising page directly on Facebook. But the changes you make, won’t transfer to your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page.

Fundraising activity

When someone donates to your Facebook fundraising page it will update your total fundraising progress. The donation will also appear on your GoFundMe Pro fundraising page’s activity feed.

Please note, that if you want to comment on a donation made on Facebook we recommend doing it within Facebook since that was the preferred method of engagement.

Troubleshooting

I'm seeing an error when creating a page. How do I fix it?

This most likely means that you haven’t allowed Manage your Fundraisers in the pop-up that displayed after you selected Create. This is required for creating a Facebook fundraising page. To fix the issue:

  1. Sign in to Facebook
  2. In the header, select the account icon
  3. Select Settings & Privacy
  4. Select Settings
  5. Select Security and login

  1. Select Apps and Websites
  2. Next to the nonprofit's app, select Remove
