Check-in attendees

Before you start

To use the Check-in feature, ensure it is turned on in your event's Details.

Overview

You can check-in attendees via the Attendees menu or through mobile check-in by scanning QR codes. To use mobile check-in, send attendees a QR code through Live Events before your event. Learn more about messaging attendees.

Check-in attendees

To check-in attendees via the Attendees menu:

  1. In the event header, select Onsite Tools
  2. Select Check-in

  1. Search for the attendee
  2. Select Check-In

Note: To undo check-in, select Checked In again.

A pop-up will appear to edit attendee details and other options depending on your event's settings.

Bulk check-in

To check in multiple attendees at once:

  1. Select the check boxes next to the attendees' names
  2. In the top bar, select Check-in

Mobile check-in

To scan QR codes for mobile check-in:

  1. In the event's header, select the Onsite Tools dropdown
  2. Select Mobile Check-in

A new tab will open to connect your camera. You can use a desktop with a camera, tablet, or smartphone to scan QR codes.

  1. Select Connect Camera
  2. Give your browser permission to use the camera
  3. Scan the QR code

When successful, a pop-up window will appear to edit attendee details and other options depending on your event's settings.

Frequently asked questions

How many check-in staff should I plan to have at my event?

We recommend a ratio of 1 staff member for every 50 attendees. For example, if you have 200 attendees, plan on at least 4 staff members at check-in.
