Receipts on Live Events

When an attendee completes their payment for an item or donation on Live Events, they'll receive an email with a link to their receipt. You can customize this by adding a receipt message to all your event receipts or purchase notes to a specific item.

Add the event's receipt message

The receipt message appears on all receipts sent to attendees of your event.

To add a receipt message:

  1. Go to your Live event
  2. In the menu, select Email Templates
  3. Under Receipt Message, enter your message and Save

The receipt message appears above the item details under a Notes field on the attendee's receipt.

Add notes to an item

When you create an item on Live Events, you can include purchase notes that are specific to that item. These notes will appear on the item's receipt and can include instructions on picking it up or thanks to the attendees for their support. You can add purchase notes when you create an item or edit an existing item to include them.

To add purchase notes to an existing item:

  1. Go to your event in Live Events
  2. In the menu, select Auction
  3. Select the Items tab
  4. Within the item's card, select the Pencil icon to edit

  1. Under Other Details, find Purchase Notes and enter your notes

How this appears on the receipt

The purchase notes appear within the item details.

View transaction invoices

An item's invoice is under the Transactions tab in the Auction menu. This can be helpful if you want to preview an item's receipt, as the invoice and the receipt sent to the attendee will be the same.

To view transaction invoices:

  1. Go to your event in Live Events
  2. In the navigation menu, select Auction
  3. Select the Transactions tab
  4. Next to the item, select View Cart
  5. Select View Invoice

Frequently asked questions

Can I resend a receipt on Live Events?

If you're a GoFundMe Pay customer, you can resend a receipt like on GoFundMe Pro.

  1. Login to GoFundMe Pro
  2. Select your organization
  3. Select Transactions and Transaction History
  4. Select the Transaction ID number for the receipt you want to resend
  5. In the Payment Information section, select Send Receipt
