Allow an IP Address
Why would my organization need to allow an IP address?
When payment processors see a sudden increase in transactions from a particular IP address or location, they may start blocking the transactions. This is a safety measure—uncommon activity like this can be a sign of fraud.
However, there are certain situations where increased transactions from a particular IP address or location are expected. For example, an increase in transactions is normal for a radiothon, gala, marathon, or any other event. Allowing an IP address ensures that your transactions will continue to process like normal during your event.
How to allow an IP address
First, obtain the IP address for the event venue or location. Once you have the IP address, use the following instructions.
GoFundMe Pay powered by Stripe customers
If you use GoFundMe Pay as your payment solution, contact our Care Team to allow the IP address. Be sure to include the IP address you want to allow in your message.
Other payment solutions
If you use another payment solution on GoFundMe Pro (WePay, Authorize.net, or Braintree) you'll need to contact the payment solution to allow the IP address. You'll also need to notify our Care Team to ensure our web application firewall doesn't block the IP due to velocity checks.
