Ask custom questions

Adding custom questions to your donation page allows you to gain insight into your supporters—for example, you could ask why they decided to donate.

What do they look like?

Questions on a donation page appear at the bottom of the form.

  • Event Waiver - The 'answer' to this question is a checkbox that serves as acknowledgment of a waiver (write the waiver information in the question textbox)
  • Custom Select List - Supporters can choose answers that you write from a multiple-choice dropdown. Answer choices must be 100 characters or less.

Add conditions

You can add a condition to your questions so they only show if requirements are met based on donation size, frequency, or yes/no responses.

Note: Currently, conditions can only be added to questions in Studio donation pages. Conditions are not available in Studio embedded forms or our legacy campaigns.

For example, you want to offer a gift to supporters if they donate a certain amount. Create a custom Yes/No question and place a condition to show only if a one-time donation is made for more than $50. You can also add a second condition if a recurring donation is made for more than $10.

Note: Only two conditions can be applied to each question.

FAQs

If I use Salesforce integration, will answers to my custom questions sync automatically to Salesforce?

Answers to your custom questions will sync to Salesforce as separate GoFundMe Pro Custom Answers records. But, you must individually map custom questions to see the answers directly in fields on the Contact, Campaign, or Opportunity object.

Why are there duplicate questions?

We recommend making the text identical if you plan to use the same question across multiple campaigns. Unless the text is identical, GoFundMe Pro will list both questions, which can lead to unwanted duplicates.

You can fix duplicates ‌by editing the questions to make them identical.

Can I include hyperlinks in a custom question?

Yes, you can add hyperlinks by using HTML. Place an <a> tag around the text you want to hyperlink, along with the hex code for the color of the hyperlink.

For example, if you want to link to your organization's website with a green hyperlink, the full line with the HTML code will look like this:

Make sure to check out <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ourwebsite.org/" style="color:#148044">our website</a>today.

Note: Check out free resources like W3 Schools to find the hex code you want.
