Connect to Little Green Light
Before you start
GoFundMe Pro was previously known as Classy, so you may notice that name in screenshots and videos.
GoFundMe Pro customers who use Little Green Light (LGL) as their CRM can connect the two platforms using Zapier. With Zapier, your organization can easily transfer donor information from GoFundMe Pro to Little Green Light.
We’ve partnered with Media Cause on helpful resources for setting up and using Zapier to send GoFundMe Pro data to Little Green Light.

Components of a Zap
Below is some terminology that will be helpful to learn before you begin to use Zapier:
- Zap: A set of steps that kicks off with a trigger. A Zap is what moves data from point A to point B
- Trigger: Every Zap must begin with a trigger, an event in the first platform. For example, a new donation made in GoFundMe Pro
- Action: Any step that follows the initial trigger in a Zap. The action will most likely be importing the data into Little Green Light but can include a Formatter step if you need to change how the data is formatted
- Event: An event tells the Action exactly what you want it to do. For Little Green Light, there is only one Event - "Import Constituent/Gift Data"
- Account: The account tab of an Action verifies that the action will be performed in the correct account of the platform. You will not have to worry about choosing the wrong account unless you connect more than one LGL account
- Test: Every step of a Zap needs to be tested to verify the data is flowing as expected
- Data in: During the Test step of an Action, it is what you are pushing out to the platform
- Data out: During the Test step of an Action, it is the response you receive from the platform you sent the information to, informing you if the step was a success or failure
Build your first Zap
Now that you are familiar with Zapier and its components, it is time to build your first Zap. In the video below you will see a quick overview of the process, including what each component listed above looks like in practice.
You can also follow our guide for a complete list of steps to build a Zap that maps GoFundMe Pro data to Little Green Light.
Review data in LGL
During the Action phase of setting up the Zap from GoFundMe Pro to Little Green Light, there is an option to require a review of each data submission in your LGL Account.
With this option on, you must establish a routine cadence to review each submission in the Integration Queue. By using the Integration Queue, you can manually verify if the Constituent already exists and map the donation to the existing Constituent.
If this setting is turned off, all donors from GoFundMe Pro will be created as contacts in your Little Green Light instance. The only downside is that you may receive duplicate contacts in LGL.
Additional information
We’ve covered the basics of building Zaps, but you can also use other Zaps and Paths in Zapier to send information from GoFundMe Pro to Little Green Light.
Other Zaps to build
One example of an additional Zap to build is when a supporter needs to update their payment information. When this happens, it would be helpful to send the updated information to Little Green Light. In this scenario, let’s create a Zap that uses the GoFundMe Pro Updated Supporter trigger.
Once you have selected this trigger, add a Little Green Light Action to send the constituent's information to LGL without information about a specific donation.
When to use Paths
Among the available Actions a Zap can take are Paths by Zapier:
When sending information from GoFundMe Pro to another platform, it can be helpful to use Paths for each Campaign. Doing this lets you map the GoFundMe Pro Campaign name to the Campaign in Little Green Light. Learn how to use Paths with our step-by-step guide.
