Set up a virtual venue

The venue is where you update the look and feel of your event for your attendees. At a high level, The virtual venue includes the capabilities to:

  1. Broadcast live
  2. Host roundtables
  3. Run polls and Q&A

Select Virtual Venue in your menu to begin.

Update your template settings

  • First, update the accent color to match your brand.
  • Choose when you would like your doors to open to indicate when attendees can join your venue. You can choose from 3 options— 5 minutes, one hour before or always leave it open.

Update your lobby settings

  • Add a lobby background image
  • You can add an engaging welcome video! Make your community feel recognized and remind them of your mission.
  • Add your welcome message. This is shown in your main lobby so make sure you add any key event information to the message and be sure to thank your community for their support!
  • Enable/Disable Show schedule. You can update your schedule under Agenda.
  • Enable/Disable Show the Social Feed

Right Sidebar

  • Enable/disable Polls, Q&A, or Chat
    • We highly recommend you enable this for any event type on our platform as you can gain invaluable insights from your attendees, maximize their engagement throughout the event, and collect data to enhance your retention efforts!

Note: If you turn off chat in the venue after chats have already been sent, they will remain visible.

  • Enable a pinned stage (optional)
    • A pinned stage appears in the corner of your venue for your attendees to stay engaged as they navigate through your venue. Your attendees can hide this if they want.

Left Sidebar

This is your event’s navigation menu. Here, attendees can access the lobby, auction items, different stages, networking tools, explore rooms, and more.

Each card is a link on the navigation menu of your virtual venue. You can turn them on/off, rename them, choose an icon, and choose a type (i.e. what action happens when you select that link).

Note: You can always go back and update the sidebar later should anything change for your event.

After configuring your venue it's important for you to set up two more parts—the stage, and rooms. Let’s explore each of these areas further, why they are important and what you need to do to get them set up.
