Accept donor-advised fund gifts with DAFpay
Before you start
Your organization must first be set up with Chariot to use DAFpay (beta). Creating an account has no upfront costs, and a paid Chariot subscription is not required.
Once you have a Chariot account, you can sign up for the DAFpay beta program.
DAFpay lets your supporters give directly from their donor-advised fund (DAF). If DAFpay is turned on in a campaign, your supporters can select it as a payment option during checkout for one-time donations and log in to their provider to recommend a grant.
The DAFpay donation is created as an offline transaction in your GoFundMe Pro account and will automatically sync to any connected integrations, so you can manage
Important: DAFpay allows donors to use their existing DAFs as a payment option for one-time gifts. Recurring donations, donor-covered fees, and employer matching are not available for DAF donations at this time.

The donor experience
Tip: If your campaign targets donors who are likely to have donor-advised funds (DAFs), add custom text next to the donation grid to let them know that DAFpay is available at checkout.
When DAFpay is turned on in a campaign, donors will see it as a payment option during checkout for one-time donations.
Donors will then be prompted to choose their provider, log in with their credentials, and recommend a grant to your organization.
Managing DAFpay donations
DAFpay donations are recorded differently from standard online donations in GoFundMe Pro. They appear as offline donations with the payment type set to DAF Pay, and are set to send to connected integrations and emit webhooks. Source codes will also be captured and included in reporting if you use them.
Note: Only DAFpay offline donations sync automatically to integrations and webhooks. Other offline donations still require manual syncing using the Integrations & Webhooks checkbox.
Receipting
Since DAFpay donations are created as offline donations in GoFundMe Pro, automated receipts and transaction emails are not sent to the donor.
This reflects how donor-advised funds work. Supporters receive a tax deduction when they contribute to their fund, not when the grant is made to your organization.
For now, your team is responsible for acknowledging these gifts in your CRM or through your existing stewardship workflows. This gives you flexibility to tailor your messaging.
Tip: You can manually send a receipt if needed.
