Google Ads
Google Ads (formerly known as Google AdWords) is Google's online advertising system. It allows you to advertise and reach audiences that are interested in your social mission on Google’s Search Network and its network of partner websites (such as YouTube).
Google Ads allows you to pay for or bid on search criteria and have your ads placed at the top of their search results page. When someone clicks on your ad (usually a link to your website), you pay Google an agreed upon price. The more you agree to pay, the more clicks you’re likely to get. This offers nonprofits the opportunity to draw in more supporters. Learn more about Google Ads.
GoFundMe Pro support
Important: Google Ads is not available for Campaign Studio campaigns. Instead, use GoFundMe Pro's integration with Google Tag Manager and install the Google Ads tag.
At the moment, GoFundMe Pro can enter your Conversion ID so you can track the data in Google Ads but doesn’t provide any support beyond this. You can track conversions on fundraising pages, donations, recurring donations, and registrations. The actions that are tracked include:
Fundraising Page Tracked Events
- Create Begin
- Create Complete
Donation Tracked Events
- Create Begin
- Create Complete
Recurring Donation Tracked Events
- Create Complete
Registration tracked Events
- Create Begin
- Create Complete
While we cannot promise additional support in the future, we can help you find your Conversion ID and Conversion Label. The rest of this guide assumes you’ve set up a conversion—if you haven’t we recommend viewing Google’s Conversion set up guide first.

Frequently asked questions
Conversions don't show up when I select Tools. What should I do?
If the Conversions option doesn’t show up, you’re most likely in Smart Mode and need to switch to Expert Mode. Note that you won’t be able to switch back, but we recommend using Expert Mode so you can access all of your Google Ads tools. To do so, select Tools > Switch to Expert Mode.
If you still experience issues, contact Google Ads support.
