Reconciling donations in the Salesforce base (NPSP) integration
With an active Salesforce base (NPSP) integration, GoFundMe Pro data syncs automatically to your connected Salesforce instance. As you reconcile accounts, use our tips to ensure that transaction and dollar amounts match between GoFundMe Pro and Salesforce.
Note: Reconciliation processes vary by organization. These recommendations are a good starting point, but may not work for your situation. If you need more help, contact your Account Manager to learn about working with one of our Salesforce integration partners.
Sync missing data
One way to help with reconciliation is to make sure all transactions synced successfully to Salesforce. Use our Data Sync tool in Salesforce to find and re-sync any missing transactions.
If missing transactions continue to fail, look at the GoFundMe Pro API Requests object for error messages and take steps to solve them.
Compare reports
Another way to track discrepancies is to compare GoFundMe Pro and Salesforce reports. In GoFundMe Pro, create a report of all transactions and filter by date or certain campaigns. To do so, go to Transactions and select Transaction History. Then, set your date range and filter by a specific campaign.
Note: Only successful ACH transactions sync to Salesforce after the settling period. Filter your GoFundMe Pro report by Status to remove any transactions that would not sync to Salesforce.
In Salesforce, create a report of all Opportunities in the same date range as your GoFundMe Pro report, or from the same campaign. Then, compare the two reports to see if any transactions are missing in Salesforce.
Tip: Use the tools that work best for you to compare reports. We recommend exporting the reports to a spreadsheet program and using the INDEX and MATCH functions.
Offline donations and registrations
The most commonly missed transactions in Salesforce are offline registrations and donations. For offline donations to sync, check the Integrations & Webhooks box when creating or editing an offline donation.
If you check this box on an existing offline donation or registration, you must use the Data Sync tool to sync it to Salesforce.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t data appear when I use the Data Sync tool?
The Data Sync tool only searches for missing data. Any data that synced will not appear in your results to prevent duplicates. Alternatively, large amounts of data may take a few minutes to appear. Wait a few minutes or try to shorten your search date range.
