Sunsetting legacy campaigns
Starting in the first half of 2025, you will no longer be able to create new legacy crowdfunding campaigns or standard donation pages. You’ll also be unable to duplicate existing ones.
This change is part of our commitment to providing you with the best tools and technology to support your fundraising efforts. While legacy campaigns have served many organizations well, now is the perfect opportunity to transition to Studio —the most advanced solution for your crowdfunding needs.
What are "Legacy" campaign types?
"Legacy" campaign types refer to our previous crowdfunding and standard donation pages that have been available for years. These tools were instrumental in helping organizations achieve their fundraising goals.
However, as technology and donor expectations evolve, these legacy tools are being phased out in favor of Studio pages, which offer improved performance, design flexibility, and better donor experiences.
What does this mean for you?
- You can continue to use your existing legacy campaigns without interruption. These campaigns will remain active and functional for now.
- You can still create child campaigns from existing templates and also create new templates from child campaigns.
- However, for any new campaigns, we recommend upgrading to Studio pages at no cost to take advantage of faster loading times, higher conversion rates, and more design flexibility.
Tip: Check out our Academy page for a course on converting your campaign to Studio and additional resources to successfully launch your campaign.
Why switch to Studio pages?
Switching to Studio pages is like upgrading from a flip phone to a smartphone. Legacy campaigns (like flip phones) were groundbreaking when introduced, but Studio pages (like smartphones) open a new world of possibilities. Here’s why:
- Enhanced performance: Studio pages load as fast as 0.9 seconds, more than twice as fast as legacy pages. Faster pages mean reduced abandonment rates, better SEO, and smoother donor experiences.
- Higher conversions: A recent head-to-head test showed Studio donation pages convert 10.6% higher on average than legacy donation pages, meaning more support for your cause.
-
Design flexibility: Studio gives you the tools to create beautifully branded, highly customizable pages. Features include:
- Drag-and-drop design capabilities
- Multiple layout options with stackable sections
- Crowdfunding widgets, such as progress metrics and activity feeds, you can place anywhere on the page
Frequently asked questions
Are existing legacy campaign types affected by this change?
Existing crowdfunding campaigns and standard donation pages are not impacted at this time. Additionally, these changes do not affect peer-to-peer and event campaign types.
Legacy campaigns will be retired at some point in the future. Rest assured, you will receive ample notice before any changes impact your existing campaigns. However, we encourage you to upgrade to Studio sooner rather than later to take full advantage of its benefits.
Are there other benefits to Studio pages compared to legacy campaigns?
Yes! In addition to better performance, higher conversions, and more flexibility, Studio pages offer:
- Rapid innovation: Our team continually adds new features and capabilities automatically applied to Studio pages.
- Continuous optimization: We're always running A/B tests to make data-backed decisions on future iterations and implementing changes to ensure pages work best for your fundraising efforts.
- Customer feedback-driven design: Studio pages have been crafted with input from years of customer feedback to meet the specific needs of nonprofit organizations.
